There are 27 islands that make up the Quirimbas Archipelago. They lie between Pemba in northern Mozambique and the Rio Rovuma - the river that forms the border with Tanzania and Mozambique. This area remains one of the last undeveloped jewels in Africa.
Virtually unknown to the outside world, only a handful of these spectacular islands surrounded by pure white beaches are inhabited by people.
It is the undiscovered nature of these is islands that make it so special for fishing. These islands have no cars or pollution, few hotels and therefore very few tourists. For the fisherman looking for a very special location, this is it.
In the Quirimbas we recommend either Matemo Island or the 42-foot, live-aboard catamaran, Broadbill as the two best options for fishermen.
We can offer a complete package to suit any fishing and holiday combination.
Why we rate it
One of the last wilderness destinations and the real Africa.
Price
Land packages at Matemo are from $2,495 for five nights. Fishing costs are in addition and vary depending on boat and fuel use.
Live-aboard charters on Broadbill are from $2,850 per day for up to six people.
